When it comes to self-driving cars, what’s safe enough?

Self-driving₁ vehicles passed a major milestone when Waymo’s minivans₂ hit the streets of Phoenix without backup human drivers. But even as these cars are ditching human supervisors, many people doubt the safety of machine motorists, a 73 percent of millennials confess to being afraid to ride in self-driving cars. There’s no consensus among experts about how safe is “safe enough” when it comes to street-smart cars.

Right now, most Americans may not be lining up to hop aboard fully autonomous cars. But “once people start knowing people who have been in them and lived to tell the tale, so to speak, I think it will change quickly”.

I believe that these cars can be very important pieces for our future because, if they are very safe, they will save many lives. The number of victims on the roads is very high each year, and this is very sad.

I trust in this cars but, a part from that, I think that this kind of vehicles are very practical for all the population. Although if you like to drive, you would not like to have this type of cars.
